Job Description

The agency

The Agency’s administrative offices are located in Livermore, CA, the easternmost city of Alameda County, which is bordered by Contra Costa County to the north and San Joaquin County to the east. Zone 7 provides treated drinking water to the City of Pleasanton; the City of Livermore; California Water Service Company - Livermore; and Dublin San Ramon Services District.

The position

Under the direction of the General Manager or Assistant General Manager, to plan, organize, direct and review the activities and operations of Water Resources/Watersheds, including planning and programs for watershed stewardship, flood control, water supply, groundwater, water transmission, storage, and distribution facilities and related technical support activities such as information technology program; to coordinate assigned activities with other sections and outside agencies; and performs other related work as required.

This position has responsibility for the quality, quantity, and timeliness of all work in Water Resources/Watersheds within Zone 7. The incumbent provides complex administrative support to the General Manager or Assistant General Manager; exercises direct supervision over management, professional, technical, and clerical personnel; analyzes and acts on major problems.

Qualifications and Experience

Education:

Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering, Geology, Planning, Economics, Public Administrations, Environmental Science or a closely related field.

AND

Experience:

The equivalent of five (5) years of full-time, senior management experience performing professional water resource planning functions, with at least two (2) years of supervisory experience.

License:

Possession of a valid California Driver’s License.

Special Requirements:

Must be willing and able to work in areas where there is exposure to chemical, mechanical and electrical hazards, and outdoors in all weather conditions. May be required to respond to off-hour emergencies.

 
 

Salary and Benefits

YEARLY SALARY: $179,233.60 - $217,796.80
