What would you do as a Sheet Metal Worker?
· Cut and mold sheets of metal into components for installing heating, ventilation and air distribution systems.
· Operate computerized fabrication machines such as plasma cutters, brakes, presses and forming rolls to cut, bend, block and form sheet metal.
· Solve challenging problems with highly technical layouts, prints and specifications using math and critical thinking.
About the Sheet Metal Apprenticeship Program
· Free tuition! Complete 8 semesters of class debt free!
· Earn while you learn. Get 6,500 hours of on-the-job training and get paid for it!
· As an ABCSD apprentice, you will work for an ABCSD member contractor and receive paid on-the-job training. You will also attend school to complete your theory and technical classroom requirements, typically two nights per week.
· You will earn college credits from the Chabot Las-Positas Community College District for each course you complete.
· We honor Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits.
· When you complete the program you receive certification from both the State of California and U.S. Department of Labor
How to qualify?
· Must be at least 18 years of age.
· Have a high school diploma, GED or high school equivalency.
· Be able to legally work in the United States.
· Have reliable personal transportation.
