About the Role
The Plus Group is seeking a Process Engineer to join our client’s engineering team. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role is responsible for understanding, optimizing, and improving production systems to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. The Process Engineer will lead process improvement initiatives, support new product development, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement process improvements to support new product and technology initiatives from concept through commercialization.

Perform data collection, statistical analysis, and trend monitoring to identify opportunities for yield improvement, cost reduction, and spoilage reduction.

Partner with quality, production, and engineering teams to recommend and implement process changes.

Support equipment procurement, development, installation, and commissioning for new product initiatives.

Manage capital projects from concept to commissioning, including validation activities.

Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) for process deviations and support corrective actions.

Assist with validation protocols (IQ, OQ, PQ) for new equipment and packaging materials.

Build and maintain vendor relationships, identifying cost-saving opportunities.

Provide technical guidance, training, and statistical tools to operations staff.

Promote safety, GMP compliance, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Lead cross-functional projects and ensure alignment with internal and external stakeholders.

Travel up to 10% for training, equipment FATs, other facilities, and trade shows.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent relevant experience

Strong background in process engineering, continuous improvement, and data-driven problem solving

Knowledge of automation, controls, and industrial processing systems

Hands-on experience with root cause analysis, process optimization, and project management

Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills

Ability to multitask under limited supervision and in high-pressure environments

Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

Willingness to travel as required; must hold a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Engineering

3+ years of experience in food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or aseptic processing environments

Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite

Experience with PLC programming, SCADA systems, or process control tools

Professional Engineer (PE) license or Project Management certification
Working Conditions
-
Exposure to varying temperature environments, wet conditions, loud noise, and moving machinery.

May involve occasional work with chemicals, allergens, and airborne particles.

Ability to push/pull/lift up to 25 lbs.
