Job Description

Bio-Rad is seeking a Field Application Specialists to work in a designated sales territory to achieve annual sales growth targets and ensure customer satisfaction.

 

The FAS duties are primarily for the BioPlex 2200 platform, which is sold to hospitals, reference laboratories, clinics, and government laboratories.

 

Note: This position can be based in Chicago IL, Denver CO or Atlanta GA. 

Responsibilities


  • Primary duties include selling immunochemistry assays and maximizing customer menu use;  installing and running all studies necessary for a successful installation; training laboratory personnel to properly run the instrument. 

  • Act as an instrument expert for assigned Account Managers and Account Executives.

  • Work closely with Account Executives to ensure revenue growth.

  • Achieve reagent sales growth targets for assigned territory; provide sales presentations and clinical presentations to lab personnel, administrators and high level executives.

  • Maintain information and knowledge of competitors and their products. 

  • Develop, qualify and follow through on sales leads from Account Managers, Account Executives, trade shows, Sales Managers, Marketing personnel, Field Service personnel.

  • Assist in training Account Managers and Account Executives on instrumentation.

  • Maintain and update accurately all reporting and other administrative duties (Salesforce.com, service reports, expense reports, forecasting, etc.) in assigned time frame; perform other duties as assigned. 

  • Overnight travel is required.

Qualifications


  • Bachelors of Science in a clinical diagnostics, life science, technical related discipline or equivalent is preferred, MBA preferred. 

  • Minimum of two years successful laboratory experience in hospitals or reference laboratories is required. Strong verbal/written communication skills, with practical working knowledge of MS Office programs is required.    

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the daily workings of a clinical laboratory is required.  Some sales or service experience as a Field Application Specialist or similar position is preferred.

  • Position requires strong planning and organization skills with the ability to motivate and influence others; the proven ability to skillfully present to laboratory/hospital personnel and executives; the ability to effectively communicate technical information.
