Job Description

Bio-Rad has an immediate need for a Genomics Field Application Scientist for Academic and Non-profit accounts.  In this role, you will be an integral member of the Northeast Team providing technical expertise to the Bio-Rad sales organization and customers in the field.

Responsibilities


  • As a Field Application Scientist, you will be a critical liaison between Bio-Rad and our research customers, providing pre- and post-sale training and application support on our portfolio of droplet digital PCR, real-time PCR and single cell NGS analysis instrumentation.

  • You will work closely with Field Sales Executives and deliver trainings, presentations, product demonstrations, and technical seminars to individuals and groups with diverse needs and experience levels.

  • Specific responsibilities include:

  • Live demonstration of our Digital PCR and real-time qPCR instruments, software and consumables.  This will include occasional "bench work" running qPCR and digital PCR assays.

  • Provide training on and assistance with data analysis, troubleshooting, and optimization for each of these technologies.

  • Assist customers with experimental design, assay design, and reporting of results.

  • This position will support accounts in New England states, New York City and northern NJ.  Preference will be given to candidates in the Boston metropolitan area.

Qualifications


  • MS in Life Sciences minimum, PhD preferred.

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience with qPCR techniques; qPCR assay design and optimization mandatory.  Experience with digital PCR a plus.

  • Strong verbal (oral and written) and presentation skills required.

  • A combination of expert troubleshooting and interpersonal skills are the keys to success in this position.
