What Your Job Will Be Like

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Planner / Scheduler to assemble and coordinate information, people, materials, equipment, along with all other necessary resources to schedule maintenance work.  This position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Develop a daily work schedule for up to 20 craft workers to complete preventive, predictive, and planned maintenance using IBM Maximo CMMS system
  • Develop work packages including field scoping of the work, detailed job plans, evaluating the need for and ordering replacement parts, and ensuring accuracy and consistency of information in the job plan using a Master Equipment List.
  • Work closely with customers, building managers, and others to coordinate and schedule maintenance work 
  • Maintain facilities equipment records and ensure all maintenance work is scheduled through IBM Maximo system
  • Communicate directly with other maintenance planners and craft workers to ensure labor hours, materials, and necessary notes or procedural changes associated with the work are accurately recorded in IBM Maximo system, and that work is closed in a timely manner
  • Communicate directly with Purchasing and Inventory / Stores personnel regarding parts required and inventory levels needed to complete all scheduled work orders and PM orders
  • Manage and schedule maintenance activities such as inspections, equipment preventive and corrective maintenance
  • Prepare and maintain a weekly maintenance schedule
  • Maintain high level of service and work performance, and also support and promote a positive and cooperative team environment which fosters creative problem solving and shared learning

About Our Team

The Centralized Maintenance department is responsible for performing predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance at the CA site. This includes maintenance of buildings, utilities, and infrastructure as well as grounds / landscaping and custodial services.

Position Information

This Limited Term Employee (LTE) position is a temporary position for one year term, which may be renewed at Sandia's discretion up to a maximum of seven years.

Individuals in LTE positions may bid on regular Sandia positions as internal candidates, and in some cases may be converted to regular career positions during their term if warranted by ongoing operational needs, continuing availability of funds, and satisfactory job performance.

Qualifications We Require
• High school diploma plus 5 or more years of related experience using CMMS system in facilities management, maintenance, or closely related field
• Experience planning and directing facilities related projects
• Experience with project management
• General parts, electrical and mechanical equipment understanding
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to obtain and maintain an L-level security clearance
• Selected applicants will be required to pass a Job Placement Assessment before beginning the job to ensure that they can perform the essential physical requirements, with or without accommodations.
Qualifications We Desire
• Three to five years maintenance experience, including forklift operation and maintenance repair experience
• Knowledge and experience using IBM Maximo CMMS system
• OSHA knowledge
• Excellent written and verbal communication, time management, and organization skills
• Accurate and detail-oriented team player
Security Clearance
Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
