General Description
The Event/Custodial Staff position is primarily responsible for maintaining a clean campus and ensuring all rooms are set up appropriately for ministry use, meetings, and special events. A high degree of adaptability and efficiency is required. This position requires working closely with the Facilities Manager, ministry staff, and outside events.
This position requires weekend and evening availability.
Essential Responsibilities for Event Staff
1. Set up necessary chairs and other resources for events
2. Complete assigned tasks by the event coordinator, as requested
3. Facilitate the proper organization and cleanliness of venues
4. Uphold any necessary safety precautions
5. Provide high levels of customer service
6. Welcome guests to the venue
7. Provide relevant information to event attendees
8. Maintain the overall cleanliness of the venue, including restrooms and trash.
9. Assist with clean up and tear down after the event
Essential Responsibilities for Custodial Staff
1. Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture and dusting surfaces
2. Sweep and mop floors and vacuum carpets
3. Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks and surfaces and restock disposables (e.g. soap)
4. Wipe mirrors and windows
5. Maintain outer premises by watering plants, mowing lawn, cleaning entrances
6. Utilize insecticides to prevent infestation by dangerous pests
7. Perform maintenance and minor repairs
8. Report significant damages and oversee repairs
9. Secure facilities after operating hours by locking doors, closing windows, and setting up the alarm
