Director of Membership Development

 

Position Summary

The Director of Membership Development is a key position with the Livermore Valley Chamber of Commerce team. This person is responsible for all functions of the membership department including the recruitment of new members, retention of existing members, recruitment of event and Chairman’s Circle sponsors and facilitator of the Chamber Ambassadors and other responsibilities as assigned.

 

Essential Responsibilities

·         Create and implement new membership sales and membership retention – meeting monthly goals

·         Maintain member relationships and provide superior customer service

·         Create new opportunities with business and community leaders to grow participation in the Livermore Valley Chamber

·         Attend Ribbon Cuttings, Mixers, Ambassador meetings and Chamber events even after normal business hours.

·         Assist CEO and office staff with events and as requested

·         Manage and coordinate Chamber Ambassadors for various events

·         Respond to requests from members and general public regarding membership benefits and concerns.

·         Determine needs of the members and report to staff member’s concerns and needs.

·         Assist with distribution of Chamber marketing materials.

 

Qualifications and Skills

·         Excellent management, public speaking, writing and interpersonal skills

·         Team player with excellent written and oral communication skills

·         Able to apply strategic and creative thinking, while being persistent, motivated and energetic

·         Solid organizational skills – flexible and able to work independently

·         Must be able to multi-task, follow direction, learn new tasks and information, concentrate, process information quickly, plan ahead, recognize and solve problems

·         Must utilize good judgement under a variety of circumstances and recognize the need for confidentiality of information

·         Able to learn and utilize additional software in use by current staff.

·         Manage membership database using Chamber Master software.
