As our 20-year-old non-profit theater company is continuing its expansion and redefinition as a regional performing arts hub, we are seeking a full-time Development Director to share a lead role in leading our fundraising efforts for both annual operations and a dedicated capital campaign to raise the funds to build a new theater space in the heart of Downtown Livermore. The Development Director will also oversee the marketing/communications plan.
Key responsibilities: ● Collaborate with Producing Artistic Director to design and execute a strategy to secure funding through individual, corporate, special event, foundation, and government donor campaigns. ● Collaborate with the Producing Artistic Director and Capital Campaign Committee to strategize and support the capital campaign and coordinate those efforts with the annual operational fundraising. ● Produce special events such as an opening night gala dinner associated with the outdoor festival. ● Stewardship: Establish and maintain lasting relationships with existing and prospective major donors. Work with a voluntary board committee on stewardship activities. ● Design and execute a marketing plan for selling tickets/programs and public relations, to be implemented with other staff and contractors.
We are looking for someone who will take the ball and run with it in this new staff position. The Development Director will report to the Producing Artistic Director and have the shared support of the Office Administrator. Hours are expected to be approximately 40 per week including some evening and weekend events. Some remote workdays are possible.
Salary and benefits: $60,000- $65,000 per year, with some compensation for medical coverage.
ABOUT YOU: We’re looking for an applicant with the following qualities and skills: ● A minimum of 3 years fundraising experience, particularly with non-profits ● A commitment to our mission and Equity, Diversity & Inclusion efforts ● A writing style that is clear, bold, and persuasive ● An interest in, and familiarity with, getting to know existing and prospective donors and asking for their financial support ● Minimum of a BA or BS degree in any field
