POSITION: Box Office Supervisor

DATE OPENED: April 1, 2021

DATE CLOSED: April 15, 2021

SALARY: $60,000-$70,000/year



This full time, exempt position will assist the Programs Manager in planning and coordinating the annual Alameda County Fair and other year-round events in the areas of admissions, ticketing, parking sellers and cashless operations.  Promotes, manages, coordinates and tracks all ticket operations. Act as liaison with e-ticket vendor including overseeing on-site operations and providing ticketing analysis. Leads all functions of the Admission Operations including development, maintenance and review of procedures, manuals, ticket sales and scans. Directs all functions of the Parking Sales Operations. Liaisons closely with the Marketing team on ticketing promotions, programs, and timelines.



·        Ticketing Operations:

o   Management of Advance ticket sales including Online, Non-Profit Group Fundraising, Retail Outlets, Group Sales, Corporate Sales

o   Planning and implementation of Grandstand Box Seat and Reserved Seat Ticket Sales at Grandstand, Amphitheater, and Action Sports Arena

o   Creation and monitoring of sales for Specialty Event Ticket Sales: Wine, Beer, Cocktail

o   Handle Off Track Betting Facility ticketing needs

o   Direct Year-round Box Office & Parking ticketing services


·        Admission Operations:  

o   Schedule and manage ushers in numerous onsite venues including Amphitheater, Action Sports Arena and Grandstand

o   Develop, record and maintain admission procedure manuals for opening and closing of admission gates

o   Manage Admission Gate Operations Supervisor during Fair

o   Hire and direct Admission Gate Operations staff

o   Manage Advance Sale Ticket Booth and Will Call Ticket Booth

o   Monitor and review ticket sales, admission scans, promotions, and ticket redemption rates

o   Engage in continuous process improvements for admission and ticketing

o   Analyze and correct traffic flow to improve ingress/egress of guests

o   Set up, staff and oversee tear down of specialty event ticket operations

o   Ensure submission of project and signage orders for ticketing and specialty events

o   Support year-round event ticket sales for promoters

o   Hire, train, and staff for year-round events for admission and parking sellers


·        Parking Sales Operations:

o   Management of Parking Sellers including recruiting, training, managing and scheduling

o   Support the sales operations as needed during events

o   Responsible for equipment distribution and day-to-day operation during event periods

o   Assist with sellers’ day-of schedule in terms of breaks, lunches, etc.

o   Control all aspects of money handling

o   Manage applicable vendor relationships

o   Develop and implement pre-paid, year-round parking ticket sales program

o   Evaluate, modify and oversee department operating processes and procedures

o   Act as point of contact between department and ongoing auditing efforts

• Strong computer skills; must be proficient in Microsoft Office—especially Excel
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
