As a Technical Support Consultant at Bio-Rad, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring satisfaction with our products.

How You’ll Make An Impact: 



  • Answer incoming phone calls and respond to emails from customers (both internal and external) and work towards resolving the stated problem or answering the inquiry. 

  • Document calls into cases, according to departmental procedures. 

  • Develop and maintain training materials for internal use. 

  • Develop into a subject matter expert on assigned product platforms and utilize your scientific background and experience to provide excellent support 

  • Interact with multiple in-house groups by providing feedback on product issues and quality trends, including Sales, Service, Marketing, R&D, Manufacturing, and Customer Service


What You Bring: 



  • Education/Work Experience: M.S. or Ph.D. in Molecular / Cellular Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry or equivalent discipline accompanied by five to ten years of relevant, hands-on experience in life science research. 

  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the following: Digital PCR, Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS), Flow Cytometry, Food Science, traditional genomic /proteomic techniques, such as PCR (conventional and real-time), protein electrophoresis and western blotting (especially with respect to assay design and troubleshooting). In addition, experience in any of the following life science techniques is a plus: bioinformatics, ELISA, Bio-Plex or Luminex xMAP Technology, Imaging. 

  • Professional communication skills (written and verbal), particularly over the phone and via email 

  • Expertise in problem-solving, data analysis and troubleshooting experimental protocols that involve both instruments and reagents. Aptitude with computer hardware and software a plus. 

  • Derive satisfaction from assisting customers resolve their technical problems while helping the company achieve its product quality goals. Teaching or technical support experience a plus. 

  • Demonstrate empathy and excellent listening skills. Resolve difficult situations with tact and diplomacy. · A supporting team member who works independent of supervision.

Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is $66,200 to $112,800 at the time of posting.  This range is inclusive of all geographic locations within the United States*.  Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of an offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance. ​



* Minimum reflects our lowest paying locations, and the top end reflects our highest paying locations. The range in your geographic location will vary but will be within the indicated range. ​
