Job Description

Bio-Rad Clinical Diagnostics Group (CDG) is one of the leading global providers of tests for infectious and autoimmune disease screening, diabetes screening and monitoring, blood group typing, data management software solutions as well as quality control products for clinical laboratories.


 


As a technical lead for Biomarker discovery, your daily activities will vary depending on the product being developed and the platform it is developed on. Your primary responsibilities will be related to population genomics, application of sequence analysis methods, coordination of NGS sequencing activities, and developing NGS/genomics analysis pipelines. Each week’s activities will be a balance between custom analysis needs for a project, building or improving on existing pipelines and tools, and organizing presentations or updates for project meetings.


 


How You Will Make an Impact:



  • Analysis of NGS datasets sequenced in-house or identified from public resources.

  • Developing Bioinformatics methods/tools to support Biomarker discovery activities.

  • Deploy analysis methods and organize datasets using AWS cloud resources.

  • Perform detailed analyses communicate findings to a broad audience.

  • Identify/characterize biomarkers and coordinate their assay design strategies.


What you Bring: 



  • Education: M.S. or PhD in a related field (Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Software, Data Science).

  • Work Experience: 4+ years of relevant industry experience.

  • Experience developing/deploying NGS analysis pipelines in HPC or cloud environments.

  • Strong Python programming experience preferred.

  • Experience working with common Bioinformatics resources and tools (NCBI, Biopython, Blast, BWA, etc.


Location: Bio-Rad is pleased to offer the flexibility of a hybrid work environment for this role, 3 days in office, 2 days remote, working out of the Pleasanton, CA office

Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is $130,200 to $179,100 at the time of posting.  Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
