Job Description
Non-Exempt ~ Part-Time

 

General Responsibilities:  Under the direction of the Director of Sexual Assault Services, the Clinical Supervisor is responsible for quality service provision for Tri-Valley Haven individual and group counseling.  The Clinical Supervisor will supervise the clinical work of the Counselors, recruit and supervise training interns and provide individual and/or group counseling to homeless families, domestic violence and sexual assault survivors and their children as appropriate.   

 General Requirements:  LMFT/LCSW required.  Two years' experience; one in residential environment; ability to manage time and tasks effectively.  Experience with family violence and/or sexual assault preferred.  Completion of Agency Training within 6 months of employment (if not before).

 SPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

 

I.          RECRUIT AND SUPERVISE THE CLINICAL WORK OF INTERNS AND COUNSELORS

 

A.        Responsible for contacting Internship Placements and recruiting interns/trainees.

B.         Responsible for providing clinical and group supervision to interns/trainees.

C.        Reports to the Director of Sexual Assault Services regarding clinical issues regularly.

D.        Responsible for the management of the counseling department in the Director of Sexual Assault Services’ absence.

 II.        PROVIDE COUNSELING

 

A.                Under the terms of the Cal OES SA/DV contracts and other grant contracts will work with community building counseling and advocacy staff to coordinate services to domestic violence and sexual assault survivors and their children.  80% of counseling will be brief, no longer than 8 weeks per client.

B.                  Responsible for directing intakes and assessment of clients.  

C.        Conducts individual and/or group counseling sessions with assigned clients as appropriate.

D.        Responsible to comply with all laws, including elder abuse reporting, CPS reporting, 5150 laws and suicide assessment.

            E.         Complies with all legal and ethical mandates regarding client welfare

F.         Responsible to keep client files current, prepare medical and VOC billings, collect fees and to follow procedures accurately in a timely manner.

G.                Responsible to compile accurate statistics.  Statistics and other agency documentation must be turned in by the 5th of the month.

  H.                Responsible for attending staff meetings as assigned, with limited work hours taken into consideration.

I.                    Networks/consults with other professionals, i.e., therapists, doctors, police, on behalf of clients.  Report of monthly contacts must be turned to Director of Sexual Assault Services by the 5th of the month.

III.       GENERAL TASKS - Performs general tasks and represents Tri-Valley Haven in a professional manner as needed.

            A.        Attends staff meetings and Board/Staff meetings as needed.               

            B.         Participates in community fundraising and special events as required.

            C.        Must have a valid California Driver's License and an insured automobile that employee will use as necessary for agency related business, including emergency transportation of clients.

            D.        Must maintain a good Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) in order to be able to drive for the agency.

 IV.       OTHER TASKS AS ASSIGNED BY THE Director of Sexual assault services AND/OR THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR WITHIN THE SCOPE OF TRI-VALLEY HAVEN’S MISSION.
