Job Description
Field Service Technician in the San Francisco Bay Area

Cal West Service, Inc. is one of the Bay Area’s leading Commercial Food Service Equipment Repair and Service providers. We hold our technicians to a very high customer service standard and are relied upon to deliver on this service standard that is expected by our customers. As a Cal West Service technician, you will provide preventive maintenance service, warranty repairs and general repair services for commercial cooking, refrigeration, ice machines, warewashing equipment and other kitchen equipment in restaurants, hotels, nursing homes, schools and corporate cafeterias. As the primary agents of Cal West Service, Inc., you will also strive to project the company’s image in a manner that will please customers and drive field service growth and expansion goals.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Perform troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on commercial foodservice equipment including, but not limited to, refrigeration, ice machines, ovens, fryers, griddles, warewashing equipment, etc.

-Demonstrate effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

-Communicate effectively with internal and external customers.

-Strive to reduce and minimize service call backs.

-Attend appropriate technical and manufacturing training.

-Willingness to be involved with the emergency on-call rotation that includes nights and weekends.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

-High School Diploma or equivalent.

-Good Communications skills

-knowledge and experience in electrical and gas principals.

-Service industry experience in commercial refrigeration and/or commercial cooking equipment repair or in related field.

-Relevant technical training, licenses and certifications (i.e.; EPA, CFESA) If applicable.

-Valid California driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record.

-Self motivated.
